Rainbow ZigZag Boomerang

Rainbow ZigZag Boomerang

Starts in far corner of one eye, gets bigger as it travels across one eye onto the other eye until it reaches the far side of the opposite eye. No pain. Then, it's gone until the next time.

Rainbow ZigZag Boomerang NEW
by: Toni

Update from previous post - I am now considered menopausal (age 48). During my last year of being peri-menopausal, I began to have the zig zag auras which resembled a "<" sign. At that time, I was eating soya butter on a daily basis (substitute for peanut butter which I am allergic to). Once I eliminated the soya from my diet, I stopped having the auras. Apparently, soya is a hormone. My headaches have changed from debilitating to a numb feeling (always right-sided) with blurriness in the right eye, but no auras. If any of you are peri-menopausal and eating soya - perhaps this may be causing your auras also.

Auras NEW
by: Anonymous

Mine also just started getting worse. I have them since 10 yr old and only every 6 months until I was 51 year. I am now 57yr and since Jan haven gotten 17 days of aura only headaches. Sometimes I will get slight pain and sometimes find it hard to find words. How long do your auras last? I am totally debilitated when this happens for I can not see anything because of the the zigzag lines. Ughhhh!

Mine got worse as I got older, then they slowed down soome and that is where I am now. (68 yrs old) My neuro said if they don't go away by menopause you will probably have them the rest of your life. Very upsetting when they make any changes. Like for a while mine were grey and square shaped. I pray yours get less and less and go away. 3 of my friends did that. :-)

Visual Migraines
by: Anonymous

My eye doctor told me these are visual migraines. The only treatment that has helped me has been chiropractic for my neck.

Rosemary for aura
by: Valerie

For those of you who get migraine aura, you can stop the aura and prevent the migraine if you use the herb, Rosemary, right away. I bought Natures Way brand Rosemary capsules (it's ground into a powder) for my daughter who also gets migraine, but gets aura (I don't). She said it stops her aura and prevents a headache. Rosemary dilates arteries and prevents any further constriction if you take enough of it. I think for her one capsule was enough.

I've been getting these things for 30 years but today for the first time, one came 10 minutes after the last one. Weird.
I get the boomerang pattern.
