Self Portrait with Migraine

Self Portrait with a Migraine, Acrylic on Mahogany

Self Portrait with a Migraine, Acrylic on Mahogany

Sometimes they start slowly. Sometimes immediate and stabbing. No Aura. Just pain. Usually on one side of my head. I've been getting them all my adult life, but lately they're occurrence is increasing. As I'm in the midst of completing some self portraits for a show, I decided to paint one during a migraine episode. I think it may reflect some of the chaotic, unpleasant feeling that I can't really describe using words.

Choas and Colour

Yes - I "like" the chaos (in other words, it expresses migraine very well!) - but also the colours. Well done.
