As I Breathe, I Hope

by Cheryl Rufer

I feel like I fade in and out between the person that I am, when I'm migraine free, and the person that I am when I'm having a migraine attack. I go from feeling pain free and able to function normally, to not knowing when the pain will stop and unable to do anything. It has been 33 years since the first time I experienced a migraine and during that time I have tried many different medications. There have been some, on and off, that have worked for a time, but I still hold on to the hope, of someday being free of pain from migraines.
